Individual Development Plan (IDP)
The purpose of creating an Individual Development Plan is essential to the organization and one of the key programs of Neutral Zones of America. The objective is to form a healthy partnership between the organization, youth, parents and local schools. A commitment will be required from all parties. NZA plans to establish a positive, professional and working relationship with the local schools. Neutral Zones of America will first focus on youths reading and math levels, communication skills, word comprehension or any signs of potential behavioral problems. A scheduled meeting between a qualified staff, the school, the youth and his or her parents or guardians to discuss and agree on the best plan possible to provide the youth with the available resources to help him or her develop into an outstanding student and citizen they are capable of being.
The Individual Development Plan (IDP) will not be an easy task. Therefore commitment from the staff, youth and parents are essential. The youth development will not happen overnight and may take some time. For this reason a tracking system will be established. With this tracking system we will be able to monitor the youth’s behavior, his or her progress and advancement within the IDP. Tracking such variables will be done through the measures of G.P.A., teacher evaluation and staff assessment.
Within the IDP we will:
- Encourage and teach the youth on how to study efficiently
- Teach students how to effectively use time management skills
- Enhance their communication skills
- Teach the youth how to prepare and follow a daily goal sheet
- Encourage reading beyond required class material
Neutral Zones of America is motivated in assisting youth in all areas of their personal and educational growth. Our IDP is one of a handful of services the organization will provide the youth to better help them succeed.
